LEADERSHIP CHANGES ANNOUNCED AT FARMERS INSURANCE HAWAII

Farmers Insurance Hawaii today announced that president and CEO Robin Campaniano will be retiring as president and will relinquish day-to-day management responsibilities for the company. Michele Saito, executive vice president and chief operating officer for the company, will assume the role of president and will head the Farmers Insurance Hawaii Family of Companies and its 300 employees statewide. Campaniano will continue to be involved with Farmers Insurance Hawaii as senior advisor and will provide counsel for the organization.

The company stressed that these changes would not affect customers or general operations in any way. The remainder of the Farmers Insurance Hawaii management team will remain intact.

"After 17 years with the Farmers Insurance Hawaii Family of Companies, I am excited to begin my new role with the organization as senior advisor," said Campaniano. "Since joining the company, I have had the opportunity to work closely with Michele as part of our senior management team. She possesses outstanding leadership, knowledge and drive, and I have absolute confidence that the organization has been placed in very capable hands."

Campaniano joined Farmers Insurance Hawaii, formerly AIG Hawaii, in 1992 after serving as the state's insurance commissioner. During his tenure, he established the company as a leader in innovation and market share, spearheading efforts to introduce new products and services to thousands of customers. Under his stewardship, corporate brand awareness grew to more than 90 percent locally, and resulted in significant increases in market share. Campaniano also implemented a number of successful business practices that have resulted in the company's steady profitability since 1993.

Saito has been with Farmers Insurance Hawaii since 1984, serving in various financial and senior management capacities. During her tenure she has focused on maintaining efficient operations throughout the company, including the reengineering of the customer service call center, creation of a quality assurance unit to better serve customers, and development of automated collections procedures that streamlined accounting processes and increased revenue. Saito also played a key role in the establishment of veyond, a software development and technology solutions company that is a part of the Farmers Insurance Hawaii Family of Companies. Most recently, she was instrumental in leading the company through its recent purchase by Farmers Insurance.
